Hi, I’m Peter pula

DIALOGUE HOST AND COMMUNITY BUILDER

What If We Already Have Everything We Need to Create Our Preferred Futures?

We all sense in our bones that what we’re doing as a species, on the whole, needs a refresh. Our extant social structures and organizational patterns likely reached the limits of their usefulness some decades ago.

Overreach and inefficacy are sure signs of their decay. We feel stuck, frustrated, isolated, and anxious.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

Instead, we can establish life-giving structures, patterns, and practices in our work and communities more aligned with, and supportive of, our true nature.

If our current structures and patterns meet their demise before we lay the groundwork for the world our hearts know is possible there can only be trouble. A gestalt shift would make all the difference.

Evolution is structure preserving. Structure is best seen as a living process. All of it, though, takes time. Better an evolution than a revolution. So we need to get on with it.

What if this urgency brings the gift of clarity? What if we are finally able to come to grips with what is important to us, who we really are, the world we wish to inhabit and our capacity, in communities and where we work, to create it?

My Approach

Don’t Quit Your Daydream

Our culture and structures reinforce the left brain’s grabbing and grasping every day. Enough of that. Necessary but not Sufficient. The left brain apprehends.

The right brain comprehends. It is wiser.

So don’t quit your Daydream.

In it there is more about you, your true nature, and what life herself wants than you might yet know.

Social Arts Practices

My approach is appreciative, assets- and strengths-based, attentive and emergent.

We begin with whoever shows up and the materials at hand. Wherever we start will lead everywhere else.

There are Four Social Arts Practices that intersect and mutually support one another:

Convening Arts | Social Architecture

Hosting Arts | Participatory Leadership

Narrative Arts | Generative Journalism

Dialogic Arts | Community Conversation

These practices, combined, have the potential to Deepen Democracy and Build Regenerative Communities.
